Cistern Repairs

After the earthquake 2021 most if not all of the cisterns throughout Pestel cracked, making them ineffective at collecting water.  Under the management of KPA, we assisted with rebuilding and/or repairing 25 cisterns.  The photos below show Before/After.  

Pestel is a severely water deprived area.  Under normal circumstances people in Pestel will walk > 30 minutes one-way to obtain water.   After the 2021 earthquake water scarcity dramatically worsened.  We anticipate building and repairing more cisterns in 2023.
