Some great news!
Hi everyone,
Let us thank Him today for being so good!!
You will recall that Jen and I had the great fortune of attending an event in October where we, along with Variety International, received a check on behalf of the people of Pestel for $100,000. This donation came from the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO). And we praised God for His care and goodness.
Last week during a phone conversation with another organization we learned that this other organization will be matching the donation dollar-for-dollar! That brings the total for the water project up to $200,000 so far!
In neither case did we seek out or solicit for any money related to this water project. I mention this only to show once again how God has provided time after time after time for the work in Pestel. Many of you have seen this recurring pattern over the past 5 years and it's no accident or serendipity. It is a coincidence (in a new sense of the word) because our prayers are co-incident with God's provision. That is to say, as we pray we see more clearly God's goodness being poured out. God delights in this work as He delights also in each of us.

PS The Creole version of the video on cholera was just released!
Thanks to all for the suggestions to put it on portable DVD devices and the like. I think we'll probably give that a try at some point since the video is of such good quality and cholera remain a big big problem in Pestel right now. The long-term solution for cholera is going to be clean, safe water (e.g. wells) with good instruction in proper sanitation.
